Meet Wink Phillips
Avid Hunter & Inventor of Fold For Field
My first recollection of hunting as a young boy was with my Uncle Phil in Clover Bend, Arkansas. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed many hunts with family and friends. On one particular hunt I was sitting in a cold duck blind on a hard board with gun sleeves scattered around. I had an idea. It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention.
After the hunt, I went to my shop and fashioned a piece of cardboard together with duct tape and experimented on folding it in such a way that it made a seat. I took my rough idea to an upholsterer and she helped me turn cardboard and duct tape into something real - my first prototype of a foldable gun case that protected my gun and doubled as a seat that was actually comfortable to sit on. Because it was a unique creation, I was able to secure a patent on the design.
I’ve used it on countless hunts over the past few years and I don’t head into the field without it. I have now partnered with American StitchCo to build the version we’re proud to sell today. Made in America. Made right here in Arkansas.
It is the perfect gun case for hunters who want to keep their gun protected and also gives a dry, warm, and comfortable place to sit when out in the field making memories with family and friends.
